Why we started Joy of Writing

A writer, a room full of children's ideas, and one stubborn belief โ€” that a child's own voice is worth protecting.

๐Ÿ’› About us

Hello, I'm Anuradha

I have been a professional writer for the last two decades. Children and writing are two of the things I love most in this world โ€” and Joy of Writing is my attempt to bring the two together.

Somewhere along the way I noticed something. Children still have wild, brilliant, completely unrepeatable ideas โ€” but fewer and fewer places to put them. Screens got faster. Attention got shorter. And now machines will happily write anything for anyone, in seconds.

I don't think that makes writing less valuable. I think it makes a child's own voice more precious than ever.

So this is what we do here: give children a reason to pick up a pen, a real person to read what they wrote, and honest, kind feedback on what shone and what could be even better. No grades. No red pen. Just encouragement, a little craft, and the quiet thrill of finishing something entirely your own.

If your child has a story in them, I would love to read it. ๐Ÿ’›

Our mission

Help every child enjoy the art of writing

To serve and enable every child to discover the joy of writing โ€” building imagination, clarity of thought and confident self-expression in the years that shape them most, even as the world leans on machines to write on its behalf.

Our vision

India's most-loved children's writing community

A place where a child's own words on a page are celebrated as warmly as any exam result or trophy โ€” and where writing is experienced as joyful play, never as homework.

๐Ÿค” Why this, why now

Writing is getting rarer โ€” and more precious

๐Ÿค–

Beyond AI shortcuts

When a machine can write anything in seconds, the child who can think and say something original stands apart.

Time to create

Childhoods are busier and screens are faster. Short, playful weekly writing fits into real family life.

๐ŸŒฑ

The years that matter

Imagination and self-expression grow fastest between 6 and 15. That is exactly when we step in.
